Molybdenum-99 (Mo-99) is the parent of Technetium-99m (Tc-99m), the most widely applied isotope in nuclear medicine diagnostics today. Its short 6-hour half-life and the amount of emitted energy (140 keV) make Tc-99m a perfect imaging agent. Mo-99 is essential in Technetium generator manufacturing.
The global Molybdenum-99 and Technetium-99m market is projected to grow from US$ 366 million in 2024 to US$ 488 million by 2030, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.9% during the forecast period.
